Join over 40,000 Hartford HealthCare colleagues who make a difference every day . *Overview* *Some holiday, weekend, evening and travel required.* We are seeking a full time (40 hour) Athletic Trainer (ATC) to deliver athletic training services at high school settings in accordance with NATA guidelines and practices (National Athletic Trainers’ Association), ensuring the health and well-being of all student-athletes. Provide athletic training services under standing orders and at the direction of the Athletic Director and/or Team Physician(s) for an assigned school’s athletic department. Assist the Sports Medicine staff with prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries. Attend assigned team practices and sporting events, including travel to sporting events and competitions across the state of Connecticut. Maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and comply with all school, NATA, and Conference guidelines and regulations. Open to licensed new graduates seeking an exciting opportunity to cover sporting events, practices and games with the school and surrounding community. Locations include: Enfield, Granby, Wethersfield, Glastonbury, West Hartford (Hall HS and Conard HS), Avon, South Windsor and Windham. _Required_: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program. Current NATA BOC Certification. State of Connecticut Athletic Training License. CPR with AED for professional rescuer with first aid. Evening, weekend, and some holiday hours may be required. _Preferred_: Previous athletic training experience, CSCS certification, CPR instructor certification, FMS or SFMA certification. _The successful candidate will_: - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. - Be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as function strongly within a team environment. - Be able to function successfully with physicians and other members of Allied Health Care team and be comfortable in a matrix organization with multiple reporting responsibilities. - Display strong customer service skills and aptitude and be able to represent both clinic and practice in a positive manner outside of the clinic and within the community.
