This ATC position is a Full-Time role. The ATC will assist the providers with in-office procedures, treatments, casting, patient education, and assuring efficient patient flow. Patient education will range from explaining next steps in the treatment plan, to educate patients through a home exercise program or bracing. This individual may perform computerized provider order entry per provider. This position may perform duties associated with symptom-management, direct in-clinic patient care, telehealth patient care, quality improvement activities and other duties as assigned.
Surgical Assist in the Operating Room - Assists surgeon with patient positioning, preparation and draping. Maintains sterile operating field, cuts sutures, assists surgeon with tissue retraction, exposure of the operative area, suctioning, drilling, sizing and preparation of previously harvested graft-tissue, position of arthroscopic camera, and suturing skin and wound closure under supervision of the physician.
Additional Certification Required or willingness to obtain- OTC, OPE-C, CST, CSFA
Assesses, treats, and rehabilitates athletic injuries under the guidance of a licensed physician. Contributes to the planning and implementation of specific treatment and prevention programs for patients and student groups. Coordinates and provides sports medicine and/or rehabilitation services ensuring ordered procedures, treatments and documentation are completed.
• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Athletic Training is required.
• Indiana State Athletic Training Licensure or eligible required.
• Must be a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross Professional Rescuer required.
• Other certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• 0-3 years of experience required.
