This includes setting up and maintaining facilities, monitoring field and court usage, and reporting incidents. The role requires knowledge of team sports, a focus on safety, and strong communication skills. Working under regular supervision, the Athletic Leader supports the City’s athletic programs, ensuring they run smoothly and safely for all participants. This position works a variable schedule outside of normal business hours including holidays and weekends. Essential Functions + Checks on and inspects for safety athletic programs, facilities, and equipment. + Completes facility maintenance checklist. + Completes attendance and non-employee accident reports. + Enforces facility rules and regulations. + Umpires games and keeps score; maintains adequate records Related tasks: + Makes sure half field lights are on/off as needed. + Drags lines and rakes fields. + Checks facility use permits. + Replaces nets, bases, and plates. + Performs related tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: + Team sports and related rules. + Youth and/or adult sports association Skilled in: + Computer familiarity + Customer service + Public speaking Ability to: + Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community officials, employees, volunteer groups, and the general public. CITY OF BOCA RATON - BENEFITS SUMMARY Part-Time Employees ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible to receive Paid Leave and to contribute to the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, a part-time employee must have worked at least 1,040 hours in the prior fiscal year PAID LEAVE: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will receive twelve (12) hours of Paid Leave on October 1st. This Paid Leave shall be used no later than September 30th of that fiscal year or it will be forfeited. These hours may not accumulate and may only be granted with the approval of the employee's supervisor. This paid leave has no cash value at separation of employment. MISSION SQUARE 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will be allowed to participate in the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. The City will not provide any matching funds.
