Job Overview: The Asylum Services Referral Specialist supports the Washington Migrant & Asylum Seeker Support Project (WA MASSP) as a member of the IRC Hub team. WA MASSP is a collaborative project between the IRC and legal, case management, and housing services providers with a Hub-Spoke model. The Asylum Services Referral Specialist ensures eligible clients can connect with service providers by submitting timely housing and case management referrals based on client needs and partner organization (spoke) capacity. In order to connect clients with the appropriate WA MASSP services, the Referral Specialist must monitor spoke capacity and assess client needs information collected by the IRC Hub during the intake and needs assessment process. Major Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Monitor spoke capacity via Zendesk and submit referrals for eligible clients based on need, prioritization score, geographical location, language, donor requirements, etc. • Monitor and track submitted referrals to manage timely follow ups and/or escalation as needed. • Monitoring referrals shared inbox and respond accordingly based on consultation with Referral Pathways Coordinator. • Assist the Referral Pathways Coordinator to address urgent cases, coordinating with the Intake team, and providing clear documentation of steps taken to address urgent client needs. • Attend meetings with WA MASSP spokes and funder around referral process and take meeting minutes. • Perform internal data quality reviews and internal audits. • Communicate with clients to clarify situation/needs and provide instructions/follow-ups as needed. • Maintain timely and accurate reporting on Zendesk. • Regularly review calls to the hotline and redirect accordingly. • Participate in all program meetings and fully engage as a member of the team. • Comply with all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding. • Other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Education:High School diploma or higher. Work Experience: • Prior experience working with migrant populations including Asylum Seekers and Refugees is highly valued. • Lived experience as a refugee or immigrant is preferred. Demonstrated Skills & Competencies: • Fluency in written and spoken English. • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or French is highly preferred but not required • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a team member. • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills. • Proven ability to prioritize duties, adaptable to changing needs and able to manage time effectively. • Advanced technological proficiency. Demonstrated ability to quickly master new systems and client/program management software. • Good communication skills; experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred. Working Environment: • Standard office hours, flexibility to work extended hours might be needed. • This position is open to Remote. Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
