This position demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in delivering services to the patient population. Additionally, this position monitors the quality of care delivered to patients, administers medications and treatments as prescribed, and ensures effective stewardship of resources. Responsibilities for this role include acting as a change agent, implementing necessary changes in collaboration with the Manager/Director, and maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other contacts. **The value youll bring to the team:** + Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. * Administer and monitor infusion therapy treatments, adjusting care plans based on patient responses and needs. * Assess patients' conditions to determine appropriate venous access methods and address any complications. * Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients requiring venous access and infusion therapy. * Provide patient education on venous access and infusion therapy to ensure understanding and compliance. * Monitor performance of nursing staff, provide feedback, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans to ensure clinical and professional standards are met. * Foster professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and career progression. * Resolve conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work environment and ensure team cohesion. * Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. * Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care. * Mentor and precept new staff by providing hands-on training, feedback, and fostering professional development. * Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies to maintain high standards of patient services and safety. Qualifications **The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed** + Associate's of Nursing Required + Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred + One or More Year of Work Experience Preferred + Ability to lead the employees of their unit in the delivery of patient care + Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives on their assigned unit + Ability to think critically in relation to the operations of the unit and delivery of patient care + Ability to manage the business of healthcare delivery on their unit + Able to assist and mentor other in relation to the technology utilized on the unit + Excellent clinical practice knowledge and is able to apply this knowledge to the unit setting + Ability to influence relationships and behaviors in relation to meeting the needs of the unit + Acts as a role model for professionalism on their assigned unit of employment + Specific skills as delineated by the unit of employment (see competencies) + Specific knowledge and skills as delineated by the unit of employment (see competencies) + Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Required + American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Preferred + Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required + CCCRN - Certified Critical Care RN Preferred + CCRN - Critical Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Neonatal, and Pediatric Acute) Preferred + Chemotherapy Certification (CHEMO) Preferred + ANCC Board Certified Med-Surg Plus RN (RNBCMS) Preferred + Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
