Asst Dir -Spa Operations

Responsibilities Responsible for assisting and supporting the Spa Director with overseeing spa operations, including staffing, programming, guest relations, budget and facilities, with direct oversight of Spa (Massage Therapists, Admins, Spa Operations Manager and Beauty Services Manager). Essential Functions and Duties: Staff Supervision: 30%Oversees the Spa Operations including Massage Therapists, Beauty Services Manager and Spa Operations Manager. Oversees facilities, including guest experience, revenue generation, cost efficiencies, policy and procedure adherence, and staff training. Analyzes market mix, occupancy levels, forecast and business levels to determine staffing levels, operational efficiencies and opportunities in order to drive revenue through assigned departments. Maintain a professional leadership style and mentor all levels of staff while managing the day-to-day operation of the spa. Monitors staff performance to assure quality standards and ensure excellent customer service in all areas for both external and internal guests, including Canyon Ranch 5-star standards. Direct responsibility for making hiring and termination decisions as well as performance management, training and developing colleagues. Budget and Financial Management: 30% Monitors daily and monthly sales goals and incentives for applicable departments to drive revenue. Manages payroll and operating expense budget controls. Maintains daily awareness of spa revenue and uses this information to make expense decisions/recommendations. Ensures that payroll, time sheets and UKG corrections, staff scheduling, and staff member payroll issues are resolved/completed properly and in a timely manner. Assist with preparation and coordination of operating budgets for the spa as well as capital budget and financial reviews. Oversees all back-bar, retail inventory, purchases and sales. Analyze financial data, departmental utilization reports and revenue. Communication: 20% Oversee spa facilities ensuring all areas are well maintained and standards are met. Ensure that all staff maintains a “critical eye” perspective to spa facilities (i.e. Cleanliness, repairs, supplies etc.). Maintain a strong partnership with the Facilities and Housekeeping Departments to ensure effective communication of concerns and timely repairs. Monitor and ensure proper and regular maintenance of equipment and area, regularly notifying Facilities when service or maintenance is needed. Report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to appropriate personnel as needed and ensure area safe from hazards for staff and guests. Program Development: 10% Creates monthly incentive programs and events and feature events with vendors to increase retail sales. Creates and facilitates monthly events with vendors and staff. Develops guest lectures and specialty programming. Oversees retail sales and coaches and motivates staff to achieve their sales to service goals. Assists with treatment development, product recommendations and guidebook edits. Reviews all treatment protocols to ensure our standards are being met and ensuring consistency of service. Creates and maintains department policy, procedure, and standards. Customer Service: 10% Direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction, the achievement and maintenance of Canyon Ranch standards and profit Qualifications Must have prior knowledge of position/industry (3-5 years previous experience in same or related field). Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record to meet Group B Driving Requirements. High School diploma or equivalent. First Aid Certified CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of employment Knowledgeable about spa operations, services and activities. Knowledgeable in spa operations & treatments in massage modalities, skin care services or salon. Proven Leadership and time management. Must be able to multi task a variety of projects or tasks at the same time by prioritizing as needed to ensure that deadlines are met. #LI-KK1
