Associate VP, Supplier Management
**Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first** Humana is seeking an influential Associate Vice President (AVP) of Enterprise Supplier Management to lead the newly created Enterprise Supplier Management Center of Excellence. This leader and its team will deploy, manage and govern Humana’s enterprise supplier management operating model and standards, which are critical to realizing superior supplier value and innovation, while managing third party risk. As we transform how our company’s supplier management delivers for the business, this leader will ensure we have a fit-for-purpose supplier management capability that is consistent, scalable, operationally efficient, rooted in commercial excellence and aligned with enterprise goals. This **AVP of Supplier Management** will not only ensure a consistent approach across the organization but also act as a force multiplier - accelerating business outcomes, monitoring and mitigating risks, deepening supplier partnerships, and creating reinvestment capacity through better commercial outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, this position offers a unique platform to shape the trajectory of Supplier Management at the enterprise level. This leader will be an integral member of the Supplier Management Leadership Team (SMLT). **Key Responsibilities:** + **Lead a high-performing supplier management center of excellence** that designs, deploys and governs enterprise standards for supplier management, including but not limited to policy, framework, standards, supplier segmentation methodology, supplier governance, training and technology. This team will collaborate with and govern all functional and business supplier management teams to ensure our company maintains a standard approach to managing our supply base. + **Manage the enterprise incident management process** to adequately resolve and mitigate supplier incidences that have an impact on Humana operations, while recommending improvements to prevent recurrence + **Serve as a key driver of our Supplier Management transformation,** bringing in external best practices into the enterprise, facilitating knowledge sharing of internal lessons learned between functional towers, organizing and coordinating enterprise supplier innovation initiatives while developing high-performing suppliers. + **Drive enterprise relationship management for strategic suppliers,** coordinating enterprise supplier performance and governance management for enterprise suppliers that perform multiple services across functional lines, in collaboration with business / functional supplier management teams. + **Oversee third party risk management program,** ensuring all aspects of supplier risk are addressed throughout the relationship lifecycle including the evaluation, contracting, onboarding, monitoring and off-boarding processes for our suppliers. Govern and manage the financial due diligence process for the supply base. + **Establish and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships** , especially with functional / business Supplier Management, Procurement, Finance, Risk, Legal, business stakeholders and others. + **Drive continuous improvement initiatives** through process optimization, automation, and metric-based governance. + **Develop talent across the team** , fostering a culture of performance, ownership, and continuous learning. **Use your skills to make an impact** **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree + Strategic Thinking, Leadership and Execution: Ability to develop and manage supplier engagement and management strategies; + 10 plus years leading supplier management functions in complex, matrixed organizations, fostering a collaborative environment + Outsourcing / Value Chain Expertise and Leadership: + 10 plus years’ leading large-scale outsourced relationships in supplier management operations and third party risk management. + Analytical Skills and Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze supplier operational / financial performance against company targets, analyze costs, and market trends to make data-driven decisions + Relationship Management: Adept at cross-functional collaboration and influencing without authority—particularly across business teams, supplier management teams, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and business stakeholders. + Communication: Executive presence with excellent communication, executive stakeholder and supplier engagement skills. + Negotiations Skills: Proficiency in supporting Procurement with supplier negotiations to achieve favorable terms, particularly through resolution of supplier management challenges. + Travel as business needs dictate + Please note workstyle/office locations in Additional information below **Preferred Qualifications** + Healthcare / health insurance industry experience a plus + Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., JD, CPSM, CIPS) **Additional information** + Must reside in Louisville, Ky, Philly/PA, NYC, DC metro/Reston VA, Atlanta Metro/GA, Dallas/Austin, TX or Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Fl, . + The workstyle for this role will be **Hybrid office** 3 days a week in the office when not traveling **Scheduled Weekly Hours** 40 **Pay Range** The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $184,800 - $254,100 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
