Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $195,700.00 - $326,100.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $100,000.00.

Job Description

The Associate Vice President of Sales is responsible for the strategic leadership, the vision and the execution of Sales for NextGear Capital.  The role will drive and execute the overall coordination, functional management and leadership of all sales activities.   Will drive NextGear’s value proposition to generate new business development based on industry needs of the market.  The VP of Sales will work closely with the Regional Sales Director (RSD) to manage the field-based sales operations and it will be their job to make sure that each sales person is well equipped to present a variety of products and services to the automotive industry that result in revenue for the company. They will be responsible for NextGear achieving its established sales goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for providing an aggressive annual sales plan and providing monthly/quarterly updates, revisions, and modifications to the plan. 

Drive sales and volume to meet NextGear’s performance metrics for all current and future products and services

Coordinates the specific objectives of the sales plan with NGC leadership, Sales and Operation leaders and the functional department heads

Establishes both market and targeted customer strategies for defined dealers.

Ensuring all NextGear Sales employees are educated on product knowledge and sales techniques

Work with Senior Director and SVP of Operations in identifying geographical sales territories and market share potential

Execution 

Responsible for the successful management of the needs of NextGear customers in order to meet the objectives of NextGear’s overall business plans and strategies. 

Defines and manages the monthly and annual sales objectives. 

Works in conjunction with the SVP of Operations and Inside Sales to identify target growth areas and establish processes

Spends significant time in the field with both individual accounts and traveling with Regional Sales Directors/sales personnel. 

Recommends compensation plans for all sales personnel, including commission and bonus plans. 

Maintains and shares knowledge base of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies. 

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

BA/BS degree required + 14 or more years of relevant work experience required in related field with at least 7 years experience in a leadership role

OR MS degree + 12 years of experience

OR Ph.D. degree + 9 years of experience

OR 18 years of experience with no degree

14+ years sales management or customer experience required; experience in the automobile or auction industry strongly preferred.

A strong track record of effectively managing people at a senior level, P&L and sales programs. 

7+ years’ experience in building and managing sales teams

Demonstrated business understanding and working knowledge of best practices.

Strategic thinker with passion for the customer and an ability to think creatively and analytically.

Strong knowledge of auto industry required.

Collaborative mindset

Entrepreneurial, self-starter with strong point of view and ability to deliver and execute vision is required.

Strong written and verbal presentation, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills required.

Demonstrated ability to work across a broad range of internal and external constituents and cultures.

Ability to travel up to 50% (day and overnight) as needed is required.
