**Job Overview**
Assoc Vendor Category Mgrs provide an essential component of the end-to-end vendor management solution that reduces risk to our company and projects, while maximizing value for both IQVIA and our customers.
The Assoc Vendor Category Manager will provide proactive clinical vendor oversight on assigned studies and be the primary contact for vendor advice and expertise. They will focus on vendor performance management, governance, consolidation, risk mitigation and quality improvement.
**Essential Functions**
• Accountable for clinical vendor oversight on small/medium less complex, clinical studies, per contract while optimizing speed, quality and cost of delivery and ensuring consistent use of study tools and training materials and compliance with standard processes. policies and procedures. Including but not limited to clinical vendor onboarding, performance, finance, lessons learned, best practices and quality assurance
• Achieve clinical vendor quality by identifying quality risks and issues, responding to issues raised by project team and/or sub-team members and support in planning/implementing appropriate corrective and preventative actions with regard to clinical vendors
• Ensure consistent use of study tools and training materials and compliance with standard processes, policies and procedures
• Support creation and accuracy maintenance of category and/or preferred clinical vendor supporting materials for project teams
• Support creation and accuracy maintenance of FAQ, VMO Viaticket follow up, VMO Sharepoint and process guidelines
• Manage clinical vendor risk (positive and negative) and contingencies proactively and lead problem solving and resolution efforts
• Collaborate with other functional groups within the company where necessary to manage clinical vendor issues and obstacles
• Collaborate with other functional groups within the company where necessary to support clinical vendor contracting
• Forecast and identify opportunities to accelerate activities to ensure financial hygiene and bring revenue forward
• Adopt corporate initiatives and changes and serve as a change advocate when necessary
• Provide input in to the development of the operational governance structure with the Preferred Clinical Vendors, including KPIs and escalation management
• Provide input in to the creation and accuracy maintenance of category and/or preferred clinical vendor supporting materials for project teams
• May serve (small projects) as a backup for other (Ass) VCMs for the clinical vendor oversight
Qualifications
• Associate's Degree In life sciences or related field required Req Or
Experience
* Typically requires 2 - 3 years of prior relevant experience of which 2 years clinical research experience. Having a background in project vendor management is a considerable benefit.
**Knowledge**
Good knowledge of clinical trials and vendor management - Knowledge of clinical trial conduct, and skill in applying applicable clinical research regulatory requirements i.e. ICH GCP and relevant local laws, regulations and guidelines, towards clinical trial conduct.
Broad protocol knowledge, therapeutic knowledge and/or procurement knowledge desired
