Responsibilities

The Associate Underwriter will work in a team setting underwriting and servicing renewal accounts for the development and retention of our Environmental line of business.

 

Production and underwriting of new and renewal account business.Compliance with underwriting documentation rules and guidelines.Maintain an acceptable underwriting profit.Adherence to Berkley Specialty Excess underwriting guidelines and referral compliance.Development and maintenance of key broker/agent relationships.Participates in all internal company training and continuing education.Remains current on product releases as it pertains to Environmental line of business.Attends strategic marketing calls to key brokers.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior work experience 2-3 years in Risk Management, Environmental or Insurance industry(s) preferable.Strong organization skills.Ability to manage deadlines effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be a collaborative team player and ability to relate and communicate with all members of the organization.Basic knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.

 

Education

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include:
• Base Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.
