The Associate Technician Production Operations – Pooling Department for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for performing a variety of assignments within a chemical manufacturing environment which mainly include but not limited to assisting with the weighing, blending, and testing of various chemistries and bulk reagents.
This position is part of the manufacturing operations team located in Hebron, KY and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the manufacturing operations team and report to the Manager of Production Operations responsible for operations of consumables essential to Beckman Coulter Diagnostics. In this role, you will:
Utilize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, work order information, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process to weigh, organize, and document, various chemical components to build and mix bulk reagent pools for production processes safely and accurately.Utilizing the appropriate calibrated lab testing equipment, poolers will establish and maintain the quality of their pools by monitoring and testing samples for temperature, background, pH, and conductivity as prescribed in product specific work instructions.Support the maintenance, cleanliness and 5S of the bulk blending equipment area (tank farm), chemical storage areas and In Process Labs.Maintain up to date training records & comply with all company policies & procedures, including all aspects of bulk formulation across multiple shifts. Support both 1st and 3rd shift formulation as needed.The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate’s degree in a scientific field (chemistry, biology, engineering, etc.) and/or 3 years of related experience handling, mixing and testing chemicals and chemical products.Ability to clearly understand and communicate critical technical information to teammates, other departments, and members of leadership.Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.It would be a plus if you also possess:
Strong teamwork skills.Strong analytical acumen and knowledge of the scientific method.High attention to detail.Bulk chemical, reagent, or consumable goods manufacturing experience.This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
