Any unsolicited resumes, including those submitted to hiring managers or other business leaders, will become the property of WSP and WSP will have the right to hire that candidate without reservation – no fee or other compensation will be owed or paid to the recruiter, employment agency, or other staffing service._ Mandatory skills + Demonstrable substantial post-graduate experience in at least 3 of the following areas: + Drainage Engineering & Design + Development Infrastructure Design + Residential Design + Design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) + Hydraulic Design and Modelling + Preparation of Development Drainage Strategies + You will be computer literate having a working knowledge of drainage design software such as MicroDrainage Windes or similar software packages. A proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is also expected. + Cultural awareness, an open mind and good English communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team. You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems. Desired skills + A good knowledge of UK design codes and legislation such as Sewers for Adoption, and well versed in the preparation of drawings for Section 104 technical approval/adoptions. + Flexibility to work on non-drainage highways design. Knowledge of UK highway design including design to gain S38 and S278 technical approvals would be advantageous. + Design of UK domestic drainage schemes and external works to gain building regulation approval. + Commercial awareness Qualifications + Master of Science or bachelor's degree in Civil / Environmental + At least 17 years' experience of working with infrastructure projects and detail design of highways and drainage. + Civil engineering Hydraulic experience. + Experience to work in/with other cultures. Responsibilities + The successful candidate's role will be as a lead designer/Work Package Manager within the ‘UK – GCC Communities team’ in our Noida or Bengaluru office producing detailed drainage designs and construction drawings for various UK projects including residential, industrial, commercial, transport, water, retail, health and education projects. You will be expected to lead the design process and to be active on a number of projects at any given time. You will report to the India Head of UK – GCC Communities team. + You will be expected to function as a technical specialist who develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. Seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design them. + The position will also involve internal client liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals and financial control of projects when acting as a package project manager. + You will be expected to mentor, support, train and encourage the young engineers and technicians to manage their learning to develop their skills and improve performance. + You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA, CDM, Sustainability and HSE requirements
