Associate Structural Engineer

**Job Overview:**
The Associate Structural Engineer is responsible for utilizing existing Structural (Eng) procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Structural (Eng) and Engineering.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Review and approve accurate and detailed structural shop drawings using 2D computer-aided design (CAD) and/or other detailing software for fabrication.
+ Review and approve red line markup drawing for as built.
+ Raise Site Query Sheet (SQS) related with design drawing i.e., clash in design model/drawing, discrepancy, clarification to design engineering.
+ Raise revision/change order for any work performed which are outside the original scope.
+ Collaborate closely with production engineer, shop engineer, PMT, design engineering, or other detailing engineer in developing structural shop drawings, ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and fabrication requirements.
+ Prepare weight change report.
+ Coordinate with lead engineer, to resolve technical issues.
+ Conduct regular self-inspections and quality checks to verify adherence to design drawings and structural codes.
+ Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to structural drafting and design.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives existing processes.
Reports to: Project: Lead Engineer
Functional: Supervising Department Manager
Liaises with: Engineers, Design Supervisor, and Designers of their own discipline
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Min. bachelor’s degree in offshore/ocean engineering, naval architecture, civil engineering or a similar filed is preferred.
+ Fresh graduate to 3 years of experience as a drafting engineer or similar role in the fabrication industry.
+ Demonstrating a strong understanding of technical drawing.
+ Familiarity with industry standards and codes for drafting.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
+ Good teamwork abilities to collaborate with drafting team.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges in developing technical drawings.
+ Proactive, willing to learn, and commitment to work with good performance to maintain productivity, quality, and safety.
