PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Lilly Catalyze360 is our external innovation organization dedicated to biotech collaboration which is comprised of three pillars: Lilly Ventures, providing capital direct to biotechs and via a fund-of-funds investment strategy; Lilly Gateway Labs, a best-in-class network of biotech incubators; and ExploR&D.
Within ExploR&D our mission is unleash Lilly’s world-leading capabilities and know-how to accelerate the science of our biotech collaborators to value inflection, and to patients. Through a unique model that mixes dedicated headcount and flexible use of functional and therapeutic area expertise, we will provide the knowledge and services to enable our collaborator’s programs. Through our work we ensure Lilly is networked with the brightest scientific minds around the world to continue to make Lilly smarter, create value for Lilly and the entire scientific ecosystem, and position Lilly as a partner of choice for biotechs to fuel our industry-leading pipeline with best external innovation. The Associate/ Sr Associate, External Partnering (Clinical/Nonclinical), ExploR&D External Innovation will report to the ExploR&D Sr. Director in Cork, with dotted line to ExploR&D Head of External Partnering and Translational Biology who is based in the US.
CORE JOB TASKS
Facilitating and Supporting ExploR&D External Partnering Collaborations and Deal Portfolio Delivery :
Support ExploR&D External Partnering through planning, execution and oversight including identification and removal of internal barriers for external partnering, deal teams and external partners.Manage and deliver on multiple projects of varying complexity to maintain the flow of external innovation opportunities – manage and track on data, deliverables and timelines across a variety of programs, partners and platforms.Lead in the review of process and systems in the tracking and advancement of ExploR&D front end opportunities.Identify needs for process improvement, design and implement efficient methods to improve systems management. Exhibit high level PPM technical skills with relevant tools and software platforms to advance process improvement and increase efficiency and success Liaise with Project Management Office (PMO), Resource Modeling and Forecasting (RMF) and Portfolio Operations and Business Planning (POBP) and PMSC teams to identify, share, and incorporate best practices into future processes, tools and training to support both External and Internal R&DLead cross-functional workstreams to deliver on opportunity and deal commitmentsExecute with proficiency in self-management and organizational skills; able to self-manage time and workload, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed.Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; develop effective teamwork between team members and external partners with diverse styles.Exhibit curiosity, creative problem solving and efficient and timely delivery of commitments.People :
