Associate Specialist, Logistics
**Job Description** **Associate Specialist – Export Operations** The Associate Specialist is responsible for managing logistics processes and activities while exporting raw materials and finished goods. This position collaborates with freight forwarders, the warehouse team, manufacturing plant planners, QA departments, USDA, and other regulatory officers. The role includes providing data to the Finance department for assigning transfer prices as necessary. The Associate Specialist will manage all countries supported by our company and select the most efficient freight forwarder based on cost and service to optimize returns. They will work with manufacturing plants to develop more cost-effective shipping methods, maintain export country shipping metrics, and handle the export of research samples. The Associate Specialist ensures accurate and validated documentation for the department and recommends process improvements to reduce costs or enhance efficiency within the department. **Major Activities and Responsibilities** Export Order Processing Communicate with internal International Affiliates and Third-Party customers to schedule shipments and address export concerns. Coordinate temperature-controlled shipments from start to finish, gathering all required export documents to accompany each shipment. Collaborate with markets to ensure they possess the necessary documentation for customs clearance. Communicate with manufacturing plants to fulfill market due dates or establish alternative arrangements to serve customers. Report export shipping metrics and update reports for products, customers, and items in transit. Export Process Improvement Analyze data to enhance practices and processes. Review exports to ensure the most efficient method is used for transferring international products. Miscellaneous export tasks These tasks may involve transfer pricing, shipping research samples, and facilitating transfers between countries. Maintain status, customer information, product specifications, and compliance databases. Enter data, monitor order status for adequate supply of products to fill orders as scheduled.
