Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Associate Software Development Engineer. 

The Associate Software Development Engineer will work part-time in our Shop Floor Systems team to support the modernization of legacy VB6 applications by converting them into C# applications. This role requires someone who is not only technically capable but also demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Development:Convert legacy VB6 applications using AI technology into C# applications.Debug and deploy converted applications across manufacturing environment.Adhere to development standards and processes for consistency.Documentation:Document all code and functional processes.Collaboration:Work closely with application leads to understand the functionality of in scope applications.Support local engineers and technicians as it relates to validation of converted applications.Cross Training:Conduct training on code conversion topics and best practices and troubleshooting techniques.Teamwork:Establish and maintain effective working relationships.Work harmoniously as part of a team.

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or other related degree1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment1+ years’ experience in database development activities with database servers like Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Postgres, MySQL2+ years’ experience with one or more development languages: Python, C#, VB6Working knowledge of Windows ServerAttention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and toolsExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (oral and written)Fluent in English, written and verbal
