About the job

The R&D is looking for a Associate Software Developer to design, develop, and debug software of diverse scope for new and existing products in accordance with designated development practices, timelines and quality expectations.

 

As an Associate Software Developer, you will:

 

Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.Participate in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.Ensure quality through functional, unit and performance testing;  works closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicates when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes.Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.In collaboration with technical writers, authors appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumersEnsure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.Typically requires some experience in software development/ programming.Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.Good interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skillsGood programming skills in SAS or language(s) related to assigned areaAbility to work within a teamYou’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large, high volume, databasesExperience writing SQLExperience with database tuning and performanceDevelopment experience with python/java and modern source-control processes (GitHub)Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesProficiency with IaC tools including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormationDesired experience with SAS software (VA, SAS ETL)System Administration Skills
