Associate Security Analyst - SOC

This role will assist in identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring the security of our organization's information systems, and contributing to incident response efforts. IMPORTANT: This position will be Wednesday thru Sunday, and working hours of 11pm to 8am Eastern time zone. This position reports to the Security Operations Manager and is a remote position with a home office setup. Role Description + Monitor security alerts and events using various security tools and platforms. + Analyzing phishing attempts and social engineering tactics. + Conduct initial analysis of security incidents and escalate to senior analysts or management as necessary. + Assist in the investigation of security incidents, including data breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts. + Collaborate with other IT and security teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities. + Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security monitoring and detection systems. + Participate in threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential threats and risks. + Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the SOC. + Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices. + Provide timely and accurate reporting on security incidents and activities to management. + Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and on-call support. Skill Level Requirements Familiarity with security technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions. Basic understanding of networking protocols and security concepts. Knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.). Experience with security incident management and response processes. Proficiency in identifying and analyzing phishing attempts and social engineering tactics. Other Requirements + Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. + 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology + 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity + Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security frameworks, and industry standards. + Certifications such as the following preferred: Industry certifications:  CompTIA Security  CEH  GIAC CSA  GCIA  GCIH The base salary for this position is $55,000 - $85,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
