Description
Document all analytical work in electronic laboratory notebook according to a defined method and provide documentation to the supervisor
Conducts biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments on therapeutic protein candidates for late-stage development and regulatory submissions
Provide input on experimental design and suggest modifications in protocols or experimental methods to meet the needs of a particular program or molecule
Will take on additional responsibilities in advanced method development to support efforts to characterize size/charge variants, protein-ligand complexes, and high concentration protein solutions of therapeutic protein drug candidates
Documents experiments, results and findings in laboratory notebook; presents work at group and department meetings; contributes to drafting of protocols, method development reports, regulatory submission sections, and peer-reviewed articles for publication
Maintain instruments, troubleshoot instrumental/experimental problems, and order/maintain supplies
Preparing buffers
Diluting samples
Pipetting and setting up assay plates following standard protocols to support the characterization of proteins
Characterization of a proteins which include Protein Concentration and Activity
Skills & Qualifications
This role requires BS in Biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Biochemistry, or related field plus 1-3 years of relevant experience. Technical proficiency in automated FPLC and/or HPLC (SEC, IEX, affinity), electrophoresis (native and/or SDS-PAGE, western blots, 2-D gels), and spectroscopy (UV, fluorescence, and/or circular dichroism) Hands-on experience with light scattering and/or capillary electrophoresis techniques is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
