Discover Impactful Work:

As an Associate Scientist, you will initially provide administrative and quality assurance support, over time this position will move to provide program management support which includes setting assessments for contracts, sample tracking and sample process management, generating and compiling data and information for deliverables, reviewing scientific reports, liaison between lab operations and support groups, stakeholder management and timeline management.  This is an onsite position in our Richmond, VA laboratory primarily working at a desk vs. in the laboratory.

A day in the Life:

Possesses an understanding of laboratory procedures.Responsible for administrative and quality assurance support.Responsible for program management support which includes setting assessments for contracts, sample tracking and sample process management, generating and compiling data and information for deliverables, reviewing scientific reports, liaison between lab operations and support groups, stakeholder management and timeline management. Responsible for review and compilation of results and data comparison against SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol and product specifications.Responsible for review and compilation of results and data comparison against SOP acceptance.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (Life Sciences degree preferred) or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience:

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the jobAssociate Scientist: comparable to 1-2 years or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge of routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs and regulatory guidelinesKnowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendia and ICH guidelinesExcellent manual dexterity skillsGood written and oral communication skillsTime management and project management skillsProven solving and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to cross-train on sample preparation techniques with another laboratory groupAbility to work in a collaborative work environment with a teamManual dexterity and can follow detailed written and verbal instructionCooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervisionManage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frameProgressive and/or more extensive job duties and responsibilities may be expected with increasing scientist levels
