Job Title: Associate Scientist, Analytical Sciences (Physicochemical)
Location: Rockville, MD 20850 (Onsite)
Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm
Compensation: $34–$45/hour
Type: 6-Month Contract

Overview
Our client, a leader in innovative antibody-based technologies, is seeking an Associate Scientist, Analytical Sciences (Physicochemical) to support monoclonal antibody (mAb) development programs. This role is ideal for someone from the biotech industry — including entry-level scientists — who thrives in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. Accuracy and quality of data are critical, and the ability to quickly identify and act on data quality issues is essential.

Responsibilities Perform chromatography and electrophoresis-based analytical testing to support mAb programs Execute sample testing with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with GMP documentation standards Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including HPLC/UPLC systems and electrophoresis platforms Adhere to SOPs and quality standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams Contribute to a culture of innovation, open communication, and teamwork
Requirements BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field Hands-on experience performing SEC, CE, cIEF, and SoloVPE assays for biologics Proficiency with instrumentation: Waters HPLC/UPLC, iCE3, Maurice, PA800 Plus Software proficiency: Empower, 32Karat, and related analytical tools Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a GMP-regulated or CDMO environment Background in biologics characterization techniques beyond the listed assays
