We are seeking an Associate Regulatory Specialist - Free Trade Solicitation to play a crucial role in facilitating Ecolab’s free trade agreement program by identifying, analyzing, recording and communicating key supplier information to evaluate and qualify procured products pursuant to specific free trade agreements and other country of origin programs. This position requires a deep understanding of free trade agreements (i.e. USMCA, KORUS, AUFTA etc), data analysis and the ability to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. You will ensure that this free trade data is appropriately leveraged in driving Ecolab’s customer value initiative forward.

What You Will Do?
Data Analysis: coordinate with North America Free Trade Program leaders to:
Run the Annual Campaign identifying items requiring free trade certification
Maintain free trade status on new items added to the free trade program product portfolio
Utilize trade sensing tool to capture ad hoc requests for order/shipped items
Conduct in-depth research on Ecolab’s procured items, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to seek information from vendors related to free trade agreements.
Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including procurement/logistics associates, trade regulatory leaders, and key individuals employed at vendor locations
Maintain contact list of vendor locations
Respond to internal and external customer inquiries whereby Ecolab is being solicited for a non-preferential or a free trade certification
Implement an approach or playbook to engage stakeholders with a low level of free trade agreement knowledge. – give information but not legal advice
Recordkeeping / Communication
Create a solicitation dashboard that links up with other free trade tracking metrics
Recordkeeping/updating of certificates received from suppliers
Document existing solicitation and other relevant processes and maintain as required
Prepare detailed reports on trade agreement progress, outcomes, and impacts on the organization and stakeholders
Ensure all trade agreements comply with local and international regulations and monitor ongoing compliance
Attend and provide support and training to internal teams on trade agreement processes and compliance requirements as needed
Maintain internal free trade qualification excel macros as required
Location: This position is based in El Coyol, Alajuela, Costa Rica
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science related field
Proficiency in English
Experience in entry level and learning agility
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel - strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct detailed excel data analysis and set up and maintain macros
Excellent communication skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
In-depth knowledge or willingness to learn international trade laws and regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
