Associate Publisher – Social Sciences Journals Are you super organized, skilled at planning? Do you have great reporting skills? About the role We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join the team as Associate Publisher and manage a portfolio of Social Sciences titles. The list has a focus on Psychology, especially in the areas of Educational Psychology and Child Development. This is a mixture of Society owned and proprietary titles and includes two gold Open Access tiles. The Associate Publisher taking on this list would also be collaborating with 3 other Psychology Publishers and 2 Education Publishers to ensure aligned strategic growth, development and outreach in these fields. The role balances academic research knowledge with a keen interest in new online and Open Access developments as well as a strong sense for relationship management. About the team The Social Sciences journals’ team is currently made up of 2 publishers in Oxford (UK), 4 in London (UK), 2 in Amsterdam and 1 in Shanghai. This Associate Publisher position can be based at either the Amsterdam, Oxford, or London offices. Any applicant needs to have a good educational background and keen interest in academic publishing; good communication skills; and would have to be prepared to work somewhat independently from the rest of the immediate team while also contributing to team initiatives as necessary. Responsibilities + Staying up to date with market developments, to identify and map market needs and business opportunities. + Combining market knowledge and data analysis, develop a portfolio strategy that will deliver on targets + Managing content growth organically and by (title) acquisition + Managing innovation of content formats and content extensions and channels + Working closely with team members and other publishing colleagues to help deliver on collaborative projects and goals. Requirements + Have a degree in a Social Sciences discipline is desirable; + Willingness to travel internationally -4 weeks per year; + Commitment to physically attend the office at least once per week; + Have relevant publishing experience or experience in a related role is welcome; + Have excellent networking and communication skills in English; + Have the ability to adapt to change, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
