Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside project managers, lead engineers and account managers supporting various electric utility clients. We are currently seeking qualified applicants to provide Project Management Services related to transmission line engineering projects throughout the Midwestern and Northeastern United States. The Associate Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist project managers to manage various sized transmission line design projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilitiesAccept responsibility for overall project performance and reportingEnsure project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans with a focus on change management, to stay within approved limitsCommunicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnelCreate and maintain resource loaded schedulesCoordinate with Engineering Leads to track and execute client deliverablesAssist with the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates and responses to Requests for ProposalComplete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time framesThe selected candidate will be expected to work regularly out of our Framingham office on a hyrbid schedule

Qualifications:

2+ years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or project coordinatingBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related discipline is requiredMust be capable of planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasksMust be capable of tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasksAbility to take direction from and discuss decisions with the direct supervisor, and to coordinate with project team membersExperience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Strong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective mannerCandidates must be able to report to local office locations on an as-needed basis

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services is preferredExperience with Engineering projects preferredIdeal Candidates will have a desire to obtain PMP CertificationExperience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project or P6)Experience working with/previous exposure to US electric utilitiesPrevious exposure to electrical and/or construction projectsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or financial management tools
