Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have expertise in Cancer Immunology/Immunotherapy, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and animal tumor models. Of particular interest is expertise in peripheral adoptive cell transfer and genetic modification of immune cells. This faculty appointment and the rank/tenure will be commensurate with qualifications. The faculty candidates are expected to maintain an independent, externally-funded research program. In order to establish a successful clinical/translational cell therapy program, the candidates should also have experience collaborating with clinicians on clinical projects and clinical trials. Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Work Experience: The Department of Surgery in the Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track position at the ASSOCIATE or full PROFESSOR level. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent and postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record in Cancer Immunology/Immunotherapy. The successful candidate will join an active cell therapy program capable of developing and implementing cellular therapies for treating cancer patients. The successful candidate must have a proven record of accomplishment with Cellular Therapies with expertise including but not limited to adoptive cell transfer in animal tumor models, development of cell therapy approaches using human materials, and genetic engineering of mouse and human immune cells. This faculty appointment and the rank/tenure will be commensurate with qualifications. The faculty candidates are expected to maintain an independent, externally-funded research program. Candidates with clinical trial and clean room expertise will be given preferential consideration. The candidates should also have demonstrated collaborative experience with both basic scientists and clinicians. Open Date 11/12/2021 Close Date Salary Range $96,000 - $237,000 Additional Salary Information This salary range is for a 12-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. Salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
