Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

This audio-first AP role would contribute to podcasts including "Dateline True Crime Weekly", “Talking Dateline”, “After The Verdict” (and other projects as needed/available)

Responsibilities:

Monitor breaking crime news and gather elements for coverage Schedule guests and talent for remote interviews and tracking sessionsResearch and tape segments for various Dateline podcastsFactcheck podcast episodesAssist in laying up edits in Descript and Pro ToolsOrganize metadata, compile transcripts, and submit cue sheetsTake the lead on publishing episodesCoordinate shipping and return of audio equipment to guests and talent
 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Qualifications1+ years of newsroom and reporting experienceDemonstrated experience in the AP role as part of a podcast teamScrupulous attention to detailPrompt and professional communication styleExperience using Descript and Pro Tools SoftwareExperience with Riverside.fm is a plusFamiliarity with audio file types, fluency with methods of capture in-studio, in the field, and remotely Video editing experience, a plus

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
