To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) **What you'll be doing** Under the direction of the Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Management and Research (PM&R), and reporting into a Senior Portfolio Manager, you will be an integral member of the Equity Portfolio Management team. You will assist in management of select Dividend Equity portfolios. You are expected to conduct independent company research and to guide and challenge the research conducted by the Equity Research Team. You are expected to adopt the team culture emphasizing constant personal, team and performance improvements. As a member of a very dynamic and collaborative team, it is expected that research insights will be shared with other analysts and Portfolio Managers across all asset classes within CIBC Global Asset management (GAM). You will be held accountable for strong peer and benchmark relative performance while adhering to investment guidelines and client expectations. You will also contribute to the Marketing and Servicing effort pertaining to both institutional and retail client bases. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time._ **How you'll succeed** + **Portfolio Manager Support -** Generate financial models and thesis statements with a view to capture the mispriced alpha opportunity. Develop and maintain an accurate research platform with models and forward-looking estimates for the relevant companies. + **Investment Decisions -** Accountable for investment decisions based on disciplined fundamental research process and risk aware portfolio construction to deliver the desired investment outcome. + **Mitigating Risk -** Through portfolio construction and scenario analysis. Clearly defining and adhering to portfolio construction parameters consistent with client objectives and guidelines and ensure portfolios are consistently managed. + **Collaboration -** Work collaboratively with the other asset teams. Contribute to the marketing and servicing effort pertaining to both the Institutional and Retail client base. + **Research Contribution -** Support the performance of all GAM equity funds by engaging in an open and ongoing dialogue with the PM&R equity team members. Initiate discussions, share information. Work with analysts to improve company models. Challenge the investment thesis and key drivers. + **Influencing discussions -** Use experience and pattern recognition to positively influence team discussions, by having the team consider multiple perspectives, with the goal of increasing the probability of success for all investment decisions. **Who you are** + **You have a degree in** Business, Finance, Economics or Applied Sciences. + **You have minimum five years** of relevant equity research and/or portfolio management experience. You are Familiar with quantitative tools and their utilization within a fundamental investment process. + **You’re a certified professional.** CFA designation is highly recommended. **It’s an asset if** you have other similar professional designations. + **You can demonstrate experience in** computer modeling and spreadsheet analysis. + **You are able to communicate** effectively orally and in written form; able to understand/explain/resolve complex issues; strong problem-solving and reasoning skills. Presentation experience is highly recommended. + **You are committed** to constant personal, process and performance improvement. + **You know that details matter.** You notice things that others don't.
