Your day at NTT DATA

As our new network engineer in APAC, you will work in NTT Global Data Center Japan/APAC’s IS Department based in Singapore, supporting the daily operation of the network infrastructure, and participate in project work as required by the business and client requirements. You will report to the Director APAC IT.

Key responsibilities:

Managing network equipment including, routers, switches and WIFIManaging DNS/DHCP/IPAMMaintaining infrastructure monitoring and alerting system (incl. SIEM)Maintaining security equipment including the Firewall, VPN, RADIUS and Vulnerability scannerManaging VoIP telephony systemProviding Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issuesProviding internal technical support and offer an escalation path from support engineers on complex networking and technical issuesInterfacing with on-site engineers and contractors during the provisioning process of any network related services, including data cablingParticipating in or leading projectsParticipating in an on-call rota for out of hours’ network supportAny other duties relevant to the position and the running of the company. We are a small team maintaining a large infrastructure

To thrive in this role, you need to have:

Prior experience working in an IT Department within a Data Center would be desirable but not essentialAbility to display some knowledge of some or any of:Routing – OSPF/BGP/CIDR/VRRP/IPv6Switching - VLANS/LACP/PoE/STPGeneral – DNS/DHCP/SMTP/VPNExperience in working on Windows and Linux servers is desirableFlexible and not afraid of getting “hands dirty” with some of the more hands on tasks involved with building and running data centersFlexibility to travel to other locations as required at short noticeAbility to work and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from several business areas/functions in facilitating projects

Academic qualifications and certifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) are beneficial.
