Associate NDT Tech
**Job Overview:** The Associate NDT Tech / Radiation Associate Technician is responsible for managing all aspects of radiation safety within the organization. This role ensures compliance with regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and implements effective radiation protection programs across operational activities. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** • Implement safety measures by regularly monitoring radiation exposure levels to ensure they remain within regulatory limits. This includes maintaining and updating radiation dose records and transparently communicating, monitoring the results to personnel. • Ensure that all McDermott and NDT subcontractor personnel are kept informed of current developments in radiation safety practices and technologies. • Promptly report any incidents of exposure exceeding dose limits to the Permit Holder and initiate appropriate corrective actions. • Monitor all activities involving radioactive materials, including routine surveillance and special surveys of all operational areas where such materials are used. • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, license conditions, and Area-specific / customer radiation safety requirements, including support the Permit Holder in verifying and reporting safety compliance to BAPETEN. • Maintain strict control over the use, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials to prevent unauthorized access or environmental contamination. • Provide expert consultation on all aspects of radiation protection to personnel at all levels. This includes providing technical and administrative instructions to radiation workers to ensure proper implementation of safety procedures. • Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming shipments of radioactive materials, as well as the preparation and shipment of outgoing materials in accordance with regulatory standards. • Distribute and manage personnel monitoring equipment, assess the need for bioassay evaluations, maintain exposure and bioassay records, and notify individuals and supervisors of exposures approaching permissible limits with recommended remedial actions. • Coordinate with Permit Holder to identify training needs, organize, and conduct radiation safety training programs and ensure personnel are properly instructed prior to using radioactive materials and whenever procedures, equipment, or regulations change. • Exercise the authority to immediately suspend any activity or project that poses a threat to health, safety, or property. This includes executing emergency response actions during radiation-related incidents. • Supervise and coordinate the radioactive waste disposal program, including the documentation of storage and disposal records and the monitoring of effluents. • Maintain an accurate inventory of all radioactive materials and ensure that radionuclide quantities remain within licensed limits. • Carry out sampling for leak tests of sealed radioactive sources and X-ray tubes and maintain corresponding records. • Promote and implement the principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) in all radiation-related activities to minimize exposure risks. • Maintain comprehensive records related to radiation protection activities, including those not specifically designated above, such as receipt, transfer, survey, procedural documentation, evaluations, and compliance records. • Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of the radiation protection and safety program and recommend improvements to enhance its implementation and outcomes. • Ensure the availability, suitability, and proper use of radiation protection equipment, and monitor its condition and usage to maintain operational integrity. • Implement access control measures in designated radiation-controlled areas to ensure that only authorized personnel are permitted entry. • Prepare and submit periodic reports on the execution of Associate NDT Tech/ Radiation Associate Technician) duties, including documented evidence of compliance and performance, at least twice annually, as required by BAPETEN. **Essential Qualifications and Education:** • Holds BAPETEN Work Permit as RSO • Snr.
