Associate Naval Architect

**Job Overview:**
The Associate Naval Architect will be supporting FEED/EPCIC projects with design and installation engineering/analysis activities related Floatover Engineering, Mooring Analysis, Jacket/topside loadout and offloading analysis, Dynamic Jacket Launch and upending analysis, Transportation analysis and any other Naval Architecture tasks in a junior level. Learns the content and application of relevant industry codes, standards, guidelines, design methods and analysis.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks related to Naval Architecture tasks for installation of offshore facilities including jackets and topsides
+ Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
+ Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
+ Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.
+ Tender engineering support with emphasis on document review, assist with the preparation of subcontractor documents, bid evaluation and vendor selection.
+ Assist senior engineers with preparation of technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis and interface with third parties including subcontractors and verification bodies.
+ Required to attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings.
+ Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements.
+ Prepare sketches of detail design to guide Designers and check drawings.
+ Keep the Area Lead/ Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns.
+ Develop an awareness of costs related to own work.
+ Develop basic understanding of McDermott's business and customers it serves.
+ Develop basic knowledge of McDermott's business units and interactions including engineering, fabrication and marine functions.
+ Develop advanced skills in use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Understand and apply standards and procedures.
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or Marine Engineering
+ Entry Level position or less than 3 years’ experience related to Transportation and Installation Engineering for Offshore projects
+ Exposure to analysis packages for Naval Analysis (Eg. MOSES)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication
