Associate Manager, General Accounting

Regeneron's Accounting group, located in Sleepy Hollow, NY is seeking an Associate Manager, Accounting. In this exciting role, you will direct a team of one accountant and be responsible for the Company’s accounting related to fixed assets, leases, certain operating expenses and other tasks. In this role you will work with Finance, IT, Facilities, Financial Reporting and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to the Company’s accounting policies, provide accounting guidance, and assist with capital expenditure reporting and forecasting. This role will also be responsible for identifying, designing and implementing process improvements.

This role requires 4 days a week on-site in our Sleepy Hollow offices.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like: Ensure proper accounting and compliance with the Company’s accounting policies for capital expenditures, leases, and other areas of responsibilityLead the timely and accurate completion of the monthly accounting cycle for areas of responsibilityPreparation and review of journal entries, supporting schedules, account analyses, reconciliations and variance explanationsResponsible for ensuring that (i) effective internal controls exist and are adhered to and (ii) associated internal control documentation is prepared and/or updated on a timely basisCompilation and review of the financial packages for the monthly Controller and CFO meetingsParticipate in monthly Controller financial review meetingsPrepare the 10Q and 10K financial statement notes related to fixed assets and leasesFacilitate quarterly and annual requests from internal and external auditors and lead SOX walkthroughsLead and participate in various quarterly meetings including Controller and departmental leadershipPerform the annual review and update of the Fixed Asset and Lease accounting policiesResponsible for the annual goal setting and performance review process for direct report, as well as their ongoing coaching and developmentManage and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as necessary.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelors Degree with 5 years relevant experience; CPA preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are critical. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities. Big 4 Accounting experience preferred. CPA or CPA track preferred. Computer Proficiency: High proficiency with Microsoft applications is required, specifically Microsoft Excel is required (financial functions, pivot tables, etc.). Experience with Oracle GL, Hubble, and Oracle Fixed Asset Module is a plus.
