Associate Manager, Executive Communications

Overview This is a critical role that will work to develop and maintain executive communications best practices, governance procedures, and standards for PepsiCo’s top leaders. The person in this role will support internal and external remarks, social media content, letters, video scripts and more. The person in this role will also lead quarterly gatherings with key stakeholders, helping to coordinate executive communications efforts, learn from past experiences, and share new ideas. This role will work closely with the Senior Director, Executive Communications, to stand up this community and ensure it provides meaningful support to key PepsiCo executives, helping to raise their profiles internally and externally, while advancing key business goals. It will also involve close coordination across our communications Centers of Excellence: Content, Media & Issues, Employee Communications, and Measurement & Insights. Exceptional writing skills and a strong command of the English language are essential for this role, as is the ability to distill complex feedback from multiple stakeholders into actionable insights. The position requires executive maturity and confidence in providing guidance to PepsiCo employees at all levels, including senior executives. Effective project management skills are also critical for handling a heavy workload with challenging and often conflicting deadlines while negotiating timelines and balancing team responsibilities. Additionally, identifying and understanding the needs of target audiences is vital to ensuring that the final product is relevant and appropriate. Responsibilities Manage Executive Communications Leadership Community: Oversee the community of executive comms leaders, ensuring effective collaboration and support among members to enhance executive communications. Facilitate regular touchpoints, such as quarterly gatherings, to share ideas, experiences, and best practices. Develop and Maintain Executive Content: Define core themes and align messages with corporate reputation strategy and key priorities. Help create and advise on executive content, including talking points, speeches, letters, and other communication materials Build and maintain a messaging repository to ensure consistency and easy access to key messages. Establish and Implement Executive Social Strategy Develop and adapt social media guidance for executives, ensuring alignment with corporate reputation strategy and key priorities. Maintain the exec comms playbook, a living document with key messages, preferred tone, past speeches, and successful language examples. Provide strategic counsel on content and approach. Support Executive Visibility and Thought Leadership Partner with Media & Issues CoE to identify opportunities for executives to lead conversations in key areas, such as industry panels, op-eds, and podcasts. Partner with employee communications and regional/functional communications to align on strategy for interactions with employees, such as video messages, AMA sessions, PEP Talks, and Lunch & Learn events, to make leadership more accessible. Implement Best Practices for Content Creation Support key messages with data, industry trends, and compelling narratives from the PepsiCo experience hub. Adapt speeches, memos, and social media posts to reflect the nuances of each medium and audience, including employees, investors, media, customers, and the highly engaged public. Structure the Team for Strategic Impact Work with specific team members for designated group of PepsiCo executives to ensure consistency and deep understanding of their voice and priorities. Cascade messages to regional communication leads to tailor them for different markets and cultural contexts. Stay connected with other executive communications leaders through Teams channel Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $89,000 - $149,000. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications University degree in English, Journalism or related field, or relevant work experience. 5-8 years of experience in executive communications, social media strategy and operations, or internal communications, either in-house or at an agency Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills Highly proficient in English language Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple deadlines and competing priorities Detail and deadline-oriented Experience managing a similar executive communications community is not required, but would be beneficial.
