Job Description

Summary:

Universal Products & Experiences is seeking an Associate Manager, Business Development & Licensing to join our Digital Media team and assist the Director, Digital Media Business Development & Licensing with spearheading and managing a variety of revenue-generating partnerships and initiatives. The Digital Media team within Universal Products & Experiences is responsible for leading worldwide digital media licensing, monetization, and audience development initiatives, overseeing partnerships across digital media, traditional broadcast media, and advertising media, as well as digital personalization and digital collectibles platforms. The team negotiates, executes, and manages licensing partnerships with domestic and international partners to make short-form content (i.e. clips and compilations), still images, characters, and other IP elements from NBCUniversal’s franchise and catalog film & TV properties available to audiences worldwide in all forms of digital and traditional media.

The Associate Manager, Bus. Dev. & Licensing will support new and existing digital media licensing partners across social video platforms such as YouTube, Meta Platforms, Snap, and TikTok, advertising licensing programs, digital & experiential partnerships with major commercial partners such as Amazon, and across business to business, education-based, and other consumer-facing opportunities. In the process, the Associate Manager will help manage and oversee operational partnerships with leading global digital video vendors and service providers. This role will also handle regular and ad-hoc operational tasks including account-managing potential advertising licensing and traditional licensing deals, orchestrating creative content reviews, obtaining approvals from internal stakeholders, assisting with analytics and research projects, organizing regularly monthly royalty reporting, and preparing a variety of business presentations for executive leadership. Duties include summarizing new opportunities to executive management for evaluation, setting strategic roadmaps for current and new partners, and executing digital media strategies on an ongoing basis. In addition, the Associate Manager will support the clips & stills media licensing business on an as-needed basis.

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000

Qualifications

Responsibilities include:

Key contributor on the Digital Media Business Development team, handling business development, account management, planning, and operational duties to support ad-supported video clip monetization, social/digital/experiential, and advertising licensing business verticalsCo-lead licensing partnerships with current and new partners across social video platforms including YouTube, Snap, Facebook, and TikTok with goal to drive incremental revenue; effectively communicate with licensees to drive commercial outcomesManage content planning and programming for studio O&O YouTube and Snap channels, and oversee monetization of studio Facebook pages and TikTok accounts.Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as the Franchise Strategy and Brand Marketing teams, as well as Legal and Finance teams, to develop strong cross-functional relationships and facilitate Digital Media and broader UP&E business objectivesExecute content review and approval processes, prioritize and track partner deliverables, manage project timelines, deadlines, requests, and manage financial reporting and royalty processingReview and approve content for use by licensing partners on digital/social video and other ad-supported or subscription-based platformsHelp drive new Digital Media strategic and operational initiatives such as those focused on improving video content search and discovery through the use of emerging technology toolsContribute to special projects related to strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and operational improvementsCompile royalty reporting, analyze performance metrics, compose one-sheets, post-campaign recaps, as well as oversee cloud-based asset & file management systems for clip content

Qualifications/Requirements:

3+ years of experience in any or all of the following areas: business development, digital business operations, licensing (content and/or IP), digital strategy, advertising, and/or account management  Meaningful experience with short-form content publishing and/or social media management on any of the following platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap; YouTube channel management experience preferredExperience developing, launching, and managing complex and nuanced projects, navigating a broad set of internal and external stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, as well as an understanding of Slack, Airtable, Monday.com, Asana, rights management databases, and Google SuiteBachelor’s Degree requiredPassion for feature film, television, and social media is a must have

Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously and autonomously while maintaining a strict attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to think critically, creatively, and identify opportunities to drive business outcomes; a positive, results-oriented attitudeExperience working at a film or TV studio, major media company, technology company with a focus on digital video and/or IP, and/or significant experience building content monetization businesses within the creator economy, and/or experience working at an agency (social or media agency preferred) is a significant plusProficiency in ad-supported business models strongly desired
