As part of the Nordic legal team, you will work closely with local colleagues, providing excellent legal and strategic advice. In addition, partner together with highly experienced legal teams spanning across 27 locations in 23 countries!
How will you make an impact in this role?
Identifying and providing legal interpretation on coming laws, or changes in laws in a clarifying way and proactively analyzing potential impact and advising on their application. Providing legal advice on general contract law and support in connection with the company’s card issuing and merchant acquiring activities. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with third parties. Handle and manage external counsel.This is a truly international environment where you will play an important role in supporting growth of American Express in the Nordics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree (LLM, jur. kand. or equivalent) from Sweden, or another Nordic equivalent law degree. Preferrable 2 - 3 years of professional experience as in-house corporate lawyer, law firm or equivalent. Distinguished practice experience of law relating to some or all of: retail consumer credit, consumer protection, anti-money laundering, data protection and/or financial regulation. Communicate clearly, concisely, effectively and persuasively in a Swedish / Norwegian and English, both orally and in writing. (Finnish and Danish is a plus). Ability to break down complex legal matters. Interest in working within the financial services sector. Experience from the financial or IT sector is a merit.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong relationship skills, an ability to adopt a commercial, business orientated approach, take charge and “get things done”. Ability to quickly learn, analyze and provide insights and knowledge. Independently handle and manage legal matters and prioritize conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting deadlines as well as client expectations.
