Associate Lead Scientist

Our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for an Associate Lead Scientist to join the LCMS team within the Bioanalysis division. The Bioanalysis division is responsible for providing analytical testing services to key pharmaceutical and biotech clients to support toxicology and clinical studies.

As the Associate Lead Scientist, you will act as the Study Director, Responsible Scientist, or Principle Investigator for non-regulated, GLP-regulated, and GCP-regulated bioanalysis studies. You will also:

Able to lead and direct scientific work to support internal methods and experiments.

Develops and reviews protocols and sample analysis plans.

Reviews data with the method development team to ensure methods are ready for validation.

Approves validation methods and reviews sample analysis methods.

Independently reviews and approves raw data.

Evaluates data and tables to ensure regulatory guidelines and expectations are met.

Reviews reports for scientific accuracy and completeness.

Provides technical support as needed.

Assists with efforts to troubleshoot and solve assay problems.

Recognizes the functions of different teams within Labcorp and seeks guidance when appropriate.

Assists with client communications regarding scientific direction.

Works with the client to determine project requirements.

Assists with scientific directives for the study team.

Identifies scientific issues or scope changes within the study.

The Lead Scientist position is an office-based role, with no hands on laboratory work.

Education:

Scientific Degree - BSc, MSc/PhD or equivalent

Experience:

Ideally have experience managing regulated studies in the role of a Study Director however this is not essential as full training will be given

GLP/GCP study management

Knowledge of global regulatory medicine agency guidelines

Experience of Watson® LIMS, Nautilus and Analyst preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to prioritize and manage time, with excellent attention to detail

Ability to utilize word processing, database, spreadsheet, and specialized software
