For our Financial Control and Data Analytics team under the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Department, we are currently hiring:

 

(Associate) Financial Analyst – FP&A Department
 

The Financial Control and Data Analytics’ main purpose is to manage project accounting activities across Thermo Fisher for multiple business units that are sustainable, accurate, consistent and scalable.

In this role you will be primarily engaged across centralized end-to-end processes with focus on quality, consistency and control across data entries and systems. Additionally, by leveraging Microsoft tools such as Excel, SharePoint, Power BI and others our team focuses on efficiency and optimization where possible.

Responsibilities:Supporting centralized activities across the organization by collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment of processes.Prepares reports and analyses in support of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and ongoing financial activities.Ensuring data quality and integrity through development of automated calculations and validations.Exploring possible synergies across processes and standardization across different deliverables.Participate in process enhancements that can be implemented to improve the speed and quality of various reports.
 Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.Previous finance-related experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
 Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesUnderstanding of general financial concepts in accounting, billing and/or financial management.Strong analytical, quantitative and data validation skills, high attention to details.Adaptability and flexibility towards changes.Good organizational and time management skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results.Strong written and oral communications skills, interacting with various levels within the organization and departments in various locations around the globe.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel.Experience with BI tools is considered an advantage.
