The Associate Engineer will directly support Procurement, Asset Management Engineering, Parts Warranty, and the maintenance staff. The Associate Engineer will work closely with vendors on technical issues, specification changes, new designs, recalls, and other related technical requirements.
This position will stay abreast of emerging technologies and advise management as to timing and applicability of said technologies with overall impact to organization. The Associate Engineer will lead the effort on testing and implementing programs to reduce expenses and create efficiencies specifically with the tire program, electrical parts, and other relevant components.
Position responsibilities include:
Testing and analysis of bus-related components that involve conventional engineering practice.Applies knowledge and understanding of the various operation of mechanical and electrical system impacts to overall vehicle safety and cost efficiency improvement.Uses appropriate tools to determine system inadequacies and opportunities for optimization. Understands regional requirements as well as correct test procedures and can conduct testing without assistance.Applies understanding of innovation skills and approaches. Takes initiative to generate new ideas within scope of responsibility. Seeks perspectives of others when solving problems or improving processes. Seeks advice when considering risks. Demonstrates willingness to consider new possibilities.Determines the root causes as well as broad implications of issues. Integrates information and defines an array of alternatives.
