**The Team:**
Our Electric Power team is seeking a Price Reporter based in Mexico-City responsible for publishing and developing key Platts benchmark assessments for the North American power market. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the team to maintain and enhance our market leadership and the integrity of our pricing assessments.
**Responsibilities and Impact:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
**U.S. Southeast Power Market Focus:**
+ Serve as the primary analyst for the U.S. Southeast Power Market, delivering timely and accurate pricing assessments.
+ Collaborate with the Houston-based team to ensure seamless market coverage and information flow.
**Support for Other U.S. Power Markets:**
+ Provide coverage for additional U.S. power markets as required, supporting the Houston-based market coverage rota.
+ Assist in the analysis and reporting of market trends and developments across various regions.
**Battery Storage Assessments:**
+ Manage and analyse battery storage assessments, providing insights and commentary to enhance our understanding of this evolving sector.
+ Develop reports that highlight trends, opportunities, and challenges within the battery storage market.
**Market Research in Mexico:**
+ Conduct comprehensive market research to explore potential coverage of the Mexican power market.
+ Identify key players, regulatory changes, and market opportunities that could impact our assessments and strategies.
**Natural Gas Initiative Support:**
+ Assist in the natural gas initiative within the Mexican market, contributing to the development of strategies and assessments that align with market needs.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to market analysis.
**What We’re Looking For:**
**Basic Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Environmental Science).
+ Fluency in English and Spanish.
+ Strong analytical skills with a basic understanding of power markets and pricing mechanisms.
+ Familiarity with market analysis or reporting within the energy sector is a plus (internships or academic projects).
+ Basic understanding of the regulatory environments governing power and energy markets in U.S. and Mexico.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
+ Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel); experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python) is a plus but not required.
+ Knowledge of database management and querying languages (e.g., SQL) is a plus.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
+ Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic market environment.
+ A demonstrated interest in renewable energy trends and technologies is a plus.
+ Understanding of the cultural and economic factors influencing the energy markets.
