Associate Director - Solution Architect – Integration (QMS)

About the Role

Lilly has launched a multi-year QMS transformation program to enable:

1.Simplified, standardized, and optimized QMS processes

2.Innovation and agility to support growth across new sites, modalities, and partnerships

3.Modernization of solution infrastructure through cloud-based platforms and advanced technologies

As a Solution Architect – Integration, you will play a strategic leadership role in the Integration and Data Workstream of the QMS Program. You will define and guide the architecture for data solutions and integrations, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, future-ready solutions that support business transformation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Define and evolve the integration and data architecture for the QMS ecosystem, including Veeva QMS and related platforms.

Lead the design and governance of scalable, secure, and reusable integration patterns and data pipelines.

Partner with enterprise architects, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with Lilly’s architectural standards and long-term strategy.

Translate complex business requirements into technical architecture and integration blueprints.

Lead all aspects of the implementation of data ingestion, transformation, and delivery frameworks that support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.

Ensure compliance with data integrity, privacy, and security standards across all integrations.

Serve as a thought leader in integration modernization, data architecture, and cloud-native design.

Coach/guide team and leaders on architecture considerations relevant to their area of responsibility.

What You Should Bring

Proven experience architecting integration and data solutions in complex, regulated environments.

Deep expertise in data modeling, Mulesoft or other ETL/ELT frameworks, and API-based integration.

Strong knowledge of AWS, (Redshift, GLUE, Athena, Lambda, Kenesis and other AWS integration stack) or Azure Techstack.

Experience with integration platforms such as Mulesoft or similar.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile development.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with a geographically dispersed group of business and technical colleagues. 

Excellent, business-oriented analytical, problem solving, and investigative skills. 

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of experience in data engineering, integration, or solution architecture roles.

Experience working in regulated environments and with internal systems quality policies and procedures.

Additional Preferences

Knowledge of GxP, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and automation systems.

Experience with Veeva QMS or similar quality management platforms.

Depth in understanding of technical design best practices including, Cyber, Privacy, Legal, Quality, TCO, serviceability, etc. 

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology areas.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$123,000 - $180,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
