The Associate Director - Patient Affordability Strategy Position

The Patient Affordability Strategy Associate Director plays an integral role in defining the strategy and design of Lilly USA’s patient affordability and copay programs allowing the Patient Affordability Center of Excellence (PACE) to meet its vision of winning by optimizing patient affordability solutions! Further, this role will be integral in developing business cases that drive Lilly USA leadership in making confident decisions to implement innovative patient affordability programs and tactics that positively impact patient trial and adherence in the most compliant, efficient, and fiscally responsible manner.

The complex and rapidly changing healthcare environment requires the Patient Affordability Strategy Associate Director to be a passionate, honorable, and agile individual who’s both accountable and adaptable as they proactively deliver patient affordability strategies that enhance, build upon, and optimize our affordability programs in Lilly USA. Attention to detail, strategic thinking, technical knowledge, data expertise, and strong communication skills are crucial for innovating and improving these programs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, stress resilient, and skilled in strategy development, problem solving, financial analysis, teamwork, compliance, judgment, time management, meeting leadership, and communication.

Summary of Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own the patient affordability strategy for assigned brands. This includes developing the financial business case, driving governance discussions following Lilly USA’s FRAP policy, pull-through capabilities & best practices, investigation of new capabilities, ad-hoc strategy analysis and consultation, environmental monitoring & benchmarking for new innovative approaches and competitor program offerings.Innovate and analyze new patient affordability tactics that align with the overall brand strategy. Model and test assumptions about business questions through a broad range of data analysis tools; garner insights; and present complex concepts in a simple, visual way to guide decision making.Exhibit subject matter expertise on copay and patient affordability capabilities in the marketplace and be able to match the needs of Lilly Brands to the capabilities of patient affordability vendors.Demonstrate knowledge of Lilly’s and LVA’s vision, mission, business strategies/goals, products, processes, compliance requirements and tools.Display and implement knowledge of healthcare industry and trends that could affect Lilly’s patient affordability program design and implementation.Build strong business partner relationships with Brand, Legal, Privacy, Specialty Account Advisors, Gross-to-Net, Finance, Tech@Lilly, the copay vendors, and peers. Constantly seek opportunities to partner with them to further improve the consumer experience and optimize the affordability programs.

Basic RequirementsBachelor’s degree with technical business focus preferred (e.g., finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, etc.)At least 5 years of related (ie, technical business, per above) experienceQualified candidates must be authorized to be legally employed in the United States. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$122,250 - $179,300

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
