Associate Director of Clinical Theranostics Research, Dept of Mol & Med Pharmacology

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Clinical Theranostics Research at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within the Ahmanson Translational Theranostics Division, Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of personalized medicine at one of the world's top academic medical centers. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary physician-scientist with a passion for translational research and clinical innovation in the rapidly evolving field of theranostics.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assume clinical responsibilities, including conventional nuclear medicine, PET/CT and therapeutic and theranostic nuclear medicine services.
• Provide scientific and strategic leadership for theranostic clinical trials, focusing on the integration of diagnostics and targeted therapies (e.g., radioligand therapies, PET-based biomarkers).
• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of early- to late-phase clinical trials across therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine platforms in collaboration with basic scientists, nuclear medicine physicians, oncologists, and industry partners.
• Collaborate with academic, clinical, and regulatory stakeholders to advance translational research initiatives and secure extramural funding.
• Play an integral role in the dosimetry program, integrating personalized radiation dose estimation into clinical research protocols and patient care pathways,
• Mentor junior investigators, fellows, and students in clinical research and theranostics; contribute to institutional curriculum development.

Required Qualifications:
• M.D or M.D./Ph.D.
• Board certification in Nuclear Medicine, or Radiology.
• Significant experience in clinical trials, preferably in the theranostic or molecular imaging space.
• Proven track record of academic excellence, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, teaching and research leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work in a collaborative academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with radiopharmaceuticals and knowledge of FDA regulatory pathways.
• ACRP certification, expertise in regulatory affairs and regulatory submissions, IND filings, engagement with the FDA, IRB submissions, GCP, and CITI
• Strong relationships with industry sponsors and knowledge of biotech/pharma development processes.
• Ability to foster collaborative research partnerships both within UCLA and externally.
