**Job Description**
_With approximately 80 employees, Gilead Sciences Nordics has its main office in Stockholm (Solna) and is responsible for the company’s products in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. The Associate Director Market Access & Health Economics is a strategically and operationally important role that will help secure patient access to Gilead’s life-saving medicines._
We have a flexible working philosophy, with presence on-site required three days per week. This role is based out of one of our three Nordic offices and will require some travelling, primarily within the Nordics and occasionally to destinations within Europe.
**Job Description**
The Associate Director Market Access & Health Economics Nordics is a senior and important strategic function within the Nordic region. The role is highly visible in the organization with regular exposure to Global HQ and above regional functions, e.g. Global Value & Access and others. Further to this, the role is matrix oriented and has a core responsibility for all HEOR related activities. The Assoc. Dir. MAx & Health Econ. reports into the Sr Dir. MAx Nordics and is a delegated as required member of the External Affairs Committee (Nordic MAx, GA and PA functions).
_HEOR Lead role_
The Assoc. Dir. MAx & Health Econ. will be responsible for a broad range of Market Access activities in relation to all Nordic countries but will primarily work with the country responsible MAx Leads in the five Nordic countries to develop health economic analyses, value demonstration arguments and reimbursement dossiers.
The job requirements for the HEOR Lead role may be summarized as:
+ Ensuring that health economic analysis and reimbursement dossiers fulfill the requirements of authorities in order to obtain and maintain market access
+ Managing cross-functional teams and working groups: part of Brand Teams and cross-functional teams where relevant
+ Working closely with Market Access, Medical, Commercial and other Nordic colleagues, external consultants, international HQ and other Gilead affiliates
+ Tasks will be related to health economics, pricing and reimbursement across therapeutic areas (both on strategic and operational levels), in particular: cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis, pricing strategy development, reimbursement dossier preparation and Real World Evidence generation
All work will be done in close collaboration with the rest of the Nordic MAx team and other regional and global functions, in particular this includes working closely with the Medical, Commercial and Governmental Affairs functions. The Assoc. Dir. MAx & Health Econ. will also interact with external stakeholders as necessary.
_Matrix Oriented Role_
The Assoc. Dir. MAx & Health Econ. is a senior, strategic as well as operational partner to the Country MAx Leads who are responsible for a broad range of MAx related matters in the four Nordic countries.
The job requirements for the Matrix Oriented Role may be summarized as:
+ Be prepared to take on specific projects and/or tasks to secure and maintain market access for Gilead’s product portfolio throughout the Nordic region. _(Examples of these projects are, but are not limited to: Driving the full market access strategy and operations for a specific product or indication, Developing the pricing strategy for a specific product together with the Pricing & Tender Lead, or Working closely with a cross-functional team to mitigate a specific market access challenge in a Nordic market.)_
+ Actively participate in developing and strengthening cross-functional work within Gilead Nordics and with global colleagues in the UK and US.
**Detailed Work Tasks**
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
+ Responsibility for developing cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, and other health economic models for reimbursement dossiers
+ Participating and driving the health economic part of reimbursement dossiers for national payers across the region
+ Developing and implementing the Nordic Market Access, Reimbursement and Tender strategy across therapeutic areas
+ Working together with other functions to shaping market access and health economic conditions for existing products and pipeline assets
+ Managing and developing payer and other key stakeholder relations together with the Country MAx Leads.
+ Communicating and developing cost-effectiveness, budget impact analyses and value stories to national and/or regional/local stakeholders
+ Shaping and utilizing medical and epidemiological information to support or lead negotiations with various external and/or internal stakeholders in the reimbursement, pricing and budget processes
+ Assessing and planning outcomes research and health economics studies and data collections projects
+ Following and where relevant impacting health care policy development across the Nordic region – with a focus on HEOR related matters
**Formal qualifications**
_Ideally, the successful applicant should have:_
+ A Master of Science or PhD degree in Economics, Health Economics, Business studies, Medicine, or another relevant background
+ Excellent understanding of all Nordic pricing and reimbursement systems
+ Robust experience from market access and health economics work in the pharma industry
+ Solid understanding of MA processes and the objectives and strategies of payers and other stakeholders in Denmark
+ An analytical mindset
+ Strong quantitative analysis skills
+ Previous experience working with any of Gileads therapeutic areas (HIV, Hepatitis, Oncology/Cell Therapy) is a plus
+ Fluent in the language of the specific country and high proficiency in English
+ Extensive experience of using Microsoft Office products is required
