The role identifies, evaluates, and articulates business risks and develops secure architectures that appropriately address those risks. Building global consensus across lines of business by developing and maintaining partnerships with all stakeholders is critical. The role leads from within instead of relying on title or position. This position will be required to work in a team environment and provide assistance with remediation of security threats, development of security policies and procedures, and drive Illumina’s overall security strategy and architecture. This position reports to the Director of Information Security. Responsibilities:Responsible for overall security architecture within the Illumina enterpriseSupport business objectives by assessing & addressing security risksDevelop secure architectures and methods to enable the adoption of technologies/solutions/mitigationsResearch and propose enhancements to the enterprise’s global security programProvide guidance and mentorship to team membersServe as an escalation point for critical issues related to the security programLeverage existing tools & capabilities to develop novel and innovative solutions to security threatsEvaluate industry solutions for suitability within business environmentParticipate and lead efforts in RFI / RFP process when evaluating security products & solutionsServe as subject matter expert for security when participating in IT projectsDocument & champion security engineering standards, best practices, and TTPs (tactics, techniques, and practices)Establish, maintain, and further partnerships across the enterprise, to include: security, business and infrastructureListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Requirements:Typically has 15+ years of experience with large / mid-size Enterprise IT Information SecurityTypically has 15+ years of experience with Enterprise-level TechnologyExcellent knowledge of end user and host security controls and technologiesIdentity and access management, including role based access controlExcellent Knowledge of multiple operating systems for both personal and server applicationsExcellent Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking architectures and systemsUnderstanding of server virtualization platforms, cloud architectures and orchestration layersStrong communication and interpersonal skills All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Experience/Education:Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related discipline; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.Professional qualifications are desirable: CISSP, SANS certifications and other technical certifications
