The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.
The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes. This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

The Migration Deployment Lead is responsible for end-to-end delivery of Data Migration for a given Deployment. This covers the receipt / verification of Migration design and key accountabilities of Build for Migration and successful run of Migration Trial loads to the MDG / S4 Axial System. They are also responsibility for Production Data Load and Data Migration remediation during Hypercare.
What you’ll do
Provides management to their team of migration deployment analysts to ensure successful delivery of teams' objectives.
Provide data migration solutions either through enterprise services or direct to AstraZeneca functions.
Receives and verifies Migration Specification, within team, ensuring that Migration Design for their deployment is generic based or required detail if tailored.
Liaise with Data migration Build Manager to ensure build of Migration is in-line with overall programme plan and delivered in a timely manner.
Liaise with Data Migration Run Manager to ensure Data Migration Engine Delivery team is resourced and available to delivery Migration Deployment as per overall programme timelines.
Liaise with Data Migration Defect Manager ensuring that all Defects are resolved / escalated as appropriate to ensure qualitative process through deployment.
Deliver all key program work product log documents as appropriate and in a timely manner.
Chair workshops / corrective action sessions where appropriate to ensure Data Migration maintains timelines and closes open issues / areas in a timely manner.
Deliver robust, cost-effective, automated solutions to support data migration demands.
Responsible for the enforcement of migration standards, roadmaps and blueprints that maximizes current technology platforms and adapts to new data technology, working closely with Data Architects and Solution Architects.
Oversee and manage the work of the Data Migration Analysts, on and offshore, ensuring the quality of the delivery, guiding in best practice, problem-solving design/delivery challenges.
Responsible for ensuring data migration strategy is implemented into deployment evaluation, and project estimates are with budget and delivery plans.
Be a key voice in the contribution to the continued development of Data Migration as a capability - training, tooling, ways of working, and operating model to optimize output and value.
May manage the relationship with key suppliers (technology and migration service providers).
Establish strong working relationships with AstraZeneca data and business stakeholder groups to develop an in-depth understanding of business priorities and early insight into changing needs in order to inform and shape demand.
Selection and implementation of data migration technologies and industry best practices, in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture and Technology Innovation functions.
Maintain an on-going professional development in data migration technologies (and methodologies) to keep AstraZeneca current with advancing and changing data technology landscape and innovation.
Essential for the role
Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or Data Management related field
Significant years of experience in a data migration role with practical examples in developing using modern data platforms to build, deploy, and maintain data migration applications
The role holder will possess a blend of design skills needed for Agile data development projects
Proficiency in data engineer techniques and testing methodologies
Proficiency in data development technologies
Proficiency with data and application design patterns and processes
Desirable for the role
Master’s in computer science and data management or suitable experience
Experience with DevOps or DataOps concepts, preferable hands-on experience implementing continuous integration or highly automated end-to-end environments
Experience implementing a microservices architecture
Proven experience of leading and growing migration teams
Industry experience with data migration in large, complex data settings, consultancy or vendor experience
Experience in reusing of prebuilt components from migration toolsets.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of the external market for migration technology and best practices
Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
Exposure to Data Pipelines (Ingest & Store, Data Preparation, Discover & Present, Insight & Experience)
