Responsibilities
The Associate Director , Practice Credentialing is responsible for the management of Practice Credentialing team providing credentialing services to all SCA owned and contracted practices . He/she will focus on managing the day-to-day operations of practice credentialing and enhancing credentialing services at each contracted practice through analysis, training, and implementing credentialing “best practices ”. He/She will work closely with the credentialing managers to ensure all practices are in compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements. Additionally, this role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to SCA's credentialing onboarding standards and practice credentialing expectations. This position will also assist in identifying and escalating significant payer issues that are contributing to A/R, working directly with payer representatives to seek timely resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provides management and is accountable for performance standards across the Practice Credentialing Team, including clear direction of service delivery, teammate management, and engagement
+ Manage the credentialing and privileging process for physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and allied health professional s across all regions.
+ Monitor performance to ensure compliance with various agency standards, payer policies, Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, and all applicable governmental standards
+ Assist in establishing and measuring quality standards and goals for Practice Credentialing teammates
+ Communicate project barriers, downstream impacts, and resolution plans to the Sr. Director of Credentialing
+ Collaborate with Human Resources, Medical Staff Office representatives , Legal, and Payer Contracting teams regarding new providers or provider issues.
+ Lead a credentialing team, providing supervision, mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for provider credentialing escalations , and work closely with Payer representatives on A/R related issues
+ Monitor and report KPIs to senior leadership regarding credentialing timelines, compliance, and payer enrollment.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration , Business Administration, or related field required .
+ Minimum 5–7 years of credentialing experience in a healthcare environment.
+ At least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
+ Experience with payor enrollment and delegated credentialing arrangements a plus .
+ Strong knowledge of credentialing standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Proficiency in credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, Verity, MD-Staff, Modio, etc.)
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
