Job Description

The Associate Director, US Market Access Payer Strategy – Neuroscience Contracting and Pricing, will be responsible for supporting access strategies and tactics related to contracting and pricing, with the goal of ensuring appropriate patient access to Neuroscience growth brands while also optimizing gross-to-net sales across all US payer channels (i.e. Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).  

This role will function as the US Market Access subject matter expert on all things contracting and pricing for multiple Neuroscience growth brands as part of and in collaboration with the Neuroscience Market Access cross-functional team, including USMAx brand leads, finance, account teams, and MABI, among other cross-functional stakeholders. This individual will be expected to leverage data, analytics, and a strong strategic mindset in all areas of the contracting and pricing components of the business, including providing positive leadership and alignment to the AbbVie Ways of Working.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Support Neuroscience Market Access contracting strategies to maximize access while optimizing gross-to-net sales for several Neuroscience growth brands.Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand Finance, Pricing, Volume Forecasting, Contracting, MABI, Account and Brand teams to help inform multiple Neuroscience brand forecasts.Present and defend the Market Access contract and rebate strategies for brand forecasts, capturing and incorporating discount rates and formulary access risks.Align with Market Access and brand leadership on key decisions and real-time changes to the forecast.Partner with MABI to create playbooks and strategic analytics capturing negotiation history, rate details, KPIs, and deal post-mortems to inform leadership, marketing and brand teams, and guide future contracting decisions.As a key member of the cross-functional contracting “Checkpoint” meetings, responsible for guiding the scenario modeling for formulary access and discount rates to align with brand strategies and priorities.Work with finance and MABI to quantify impacts of access changes and upcoming deals to the various forecasts.Create Neuroscience Market Access contracting resources to support knowledge sharing and enable faster decision-making.Responsible for creating and maintaining Market Access LRP and Plan presentations and Key Plus / Minus (KPM) materials.Work closely with Market Access brand leads to develop and execute Market Access Marketing and pricing strategies and tactics across US payer channels to accomplish access-specific objectives for multiple Neuroscience growth brands. 

 


Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required7 years of combined pharmaceutical experience, including US Managed Healthcare (Market Access), Finance, Analytics, and/or Contracting & PricingStrong business and financial acumenStrong analytical backgroundProven ability to work cross-functionally and drive resultsThorough understanding of reimbursement and payer environmentCustomer-centric mindsetStrong communication skills

Preferred:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Finance degree and/or experienceExperience in multiple US Payer channels:  Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Institutional and other Gov’t (i.e. VA / DOD)Experience in multiple US reimbursement modalities: buy and bill, retail, specialty, institutional and governmentMBA

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
