Associate Director, Regional Marketing - Oncology Portfolio – Eastern USA

PURPOSE

As a key member of the field-based customer engagement squad, you will engage with and cultivate relationships with Oncology Thought Leaders (TLs) to generate insights that inform strategic decision-making. In support of Bayer Oncology Portfolio’s targeted / precision therapies - you will execute regional meetings and deliver programs to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) specialized in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Your efforts will support both immediate squad objectives and long-term brand success. The position covers the Eastern half of the United States, requiring travel up to 50% within the territory. Candidates must reside within the territory, preferably in one of these metropolitan areas; Atlanta, GA., Charlotte, NC, Mid to North Atlantic region or Pittsburgh, PA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will champion the brand communication strategy across five primary areas:

Strategic Thought Leader (TL) EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with TLs in NSCLC, particularly those at the leading edge of treatment patients with key / rare driver mutations. Engage target customers through various channels (1:1 meetings, conferences, consultancy, speaker bureau, material co-creation) to foster positive product perception and strong relationships;Collaborate with the local team to identify and recommend emerging TLs, ensuring focus on those significantly influencing peer networks, institutional decisions, and scientific advancements;Develop deep clinical expertise to effectively challenge and advance TL thinking, utilizing knowledge of data, brand strategy, messaging therapy and competitive landscape;Work with the Area General Manager (AGM) to track TL sentiment and develop strategies to motivate TLs to champion Bayer Oncology targeted/precision therapies;Congress and Regional Convention LeadershipPlan and execute Bayer’s presence at regional NSCLC conferences, ensuring effective internal alignment and training of local staff;Support national conference planning, collaborating with the brand team to enhance content and exhibit design;Lead TL meetings and support executive encounters at congresses and industry events;Attend educational sessions to enhance clinical expertise and share insights with sales and brand teams;Speaker Bureau EngagementOversee peer-to-peer (P2P) marketing initiatives, including national broadcasts and third-party speaker programs;Support field teams with TL recommendations for local speaker programs;Manage speaker bureau maintenance, including training and utilization tracking;Gather insights during program execution to refine and enhance speaker programs;Localization of Marketing Initiatives and Digital ProgramsDrive local and national marketing projects that align with brand strategy, participating in platform teams to improve processes;Tailor brand materials and digital solutions to meet local needs;Insight Generation and Field PartnershipConsolidate and share customer insights with sales consultants, key account executives, and other internal partners to support brand strategy;Lead advisory boards in collaboration with the Brand Lead and stakeholders, ensuring effective execution and sharing of insights;Collaborate with local teams to optimize engagement opportunities, including sponsorships and events;Share knowledge on systems and processes to strengthen TL relationships across customer types.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 50% travel for customer engagements, medical conferences, patient advocacy events, and internal meetings.

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks candidates with the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree;Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;5-7 years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry, including at least 2 years in customer-facing roles;2 years of experience in Oncology, preferably on targeted / precision therapies;Proven track record in strategic business development and project management;Strong relationship-building skills with key customers and stakeholders;Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail;Proactive, results-oriented self-starter;Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills;Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a life-science field;Experience in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is preferred;Prior marketing or leadership experience in sales training, sales management, or market access is strongly preferred;Established relationships with academic institutions and key accounts are a strong advantage.

 

COMPENSATION

Employees can expect a salary range of $150,930.00 to $226,396.00. Additional compensation may include bonuses or commissions, as applicable. Benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement plans, paid time off, and sick leave
