The Associate Director, Global Supplier Human Rights, is responsible for implementing the Global Supply Chain Human Rights Due Diligence Program for the Procurement organization. This Associate Director will help create key program components and be responsible for the implementation, and day to day human rights due diligence activities across the BMS Supply Chain. Areas of focus include but are not limited to: Global Supplier Human Rights Risk Assessment, Human Rights Risk Mitigation through implementing Due Diligence, remediation and maintaining operational strategies under the Responsible Sourcing Program.

This role is expected to have proven experience in the Human Rights Due Diligence space along with expertise and knowledge of Procurement and external Legal/Regulatory requirements. This role will drive the Supplier Human Rights Engagement process, manage relationships, procedures, supplier and category risk segmentation, metrics/KPI development, etc.  This will include leading key Supplier Engagement in conjunction with senior business stakeholders. This role will also ladder the supplier HRDD program into the enterprise Human Rights governance.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Execute Human Rights Strategy and drive supplier performance to ensure risk mitigation

Design and implement supplier HRDD training to ensure compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the Supplier Agreements.

Design and facilitate workshops, methodologies and training courses and monitor activities to support awareness, detection, and prevention goals.

Optimize the internal communications strategy to ensure team members and key leadership are up to date and provided continued support for program.

Drive cadenced Human Rights reviews with key internal stakeholders to track performance and ensure alignment in their functional areas.

Direct Human Rights escalations and coordinate with suppliers on behalf of the business to develop solutions or performance improvement plans.

Provide Operational Support to the Global Supplier Human Rights Program that (1) is best in class, (2) aligns to business needs and market nuances and (3) creates significant value

Lead a group of internal stakeholders and external program managers to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Drive efforts to ensure enterprise meets global regulatory requirements and legal mandates for Supplier Human Rights.

Implement business plans and deliver with budgets as needed to ensure Global Program is fit-for-purpose that meets business needs and supports outcomes.

Leverage knowledge of Global Human Rights to support the creation of supplier solutions for the business in alignment with business outcome needs.

At the Direction of the Director, Responsible Sourcing, engage with Enterprise Stakeholders concerning enterprise human rights risk and serve as an internal SME to advise on human rights on best practices in the human rights program.

Continuously bring external benchmarks (such as industry consortiums/working groups), KPIs, and thought leadership to optimize the HRDD Strategy.

Collaborate and coordinate with Procurement operations teams to ensure simple and clear processes for HRDD Program Implementation.

Support efforts to execute human rights risk assessment and advise global business partners, company leadership, and key functions on corresponding risks and opportunities.

Innovation Management

Foster internal and external (supplier-led) innovation.

Coordinate with other Category Strategy Partners and Procurement Market Business Partners to execute innovation plans, supplier capabilities, and lead innovation workshops that help solve key business problems.

Coordinate and synchronize with other BMS organizations

Coordinate across the procurement organization and the Sustainability & Social Impact (SSI) team to enable the HRDD reporting mechanism, strategy, processes, policies, and digital strategy; work closely with SSI to ensure alignment.

Synchronize with other Category Strategy Partners and other Procurement team members across procurement towers to capture and refine best practices and drive a consistent experience for the business.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education of a B.S./B.A. is required.

Minimum of seven (7) years of business experience of which two (2) years is multi-disciplined Human Rights experience.

Knowledge and supporting a global Human Rights Program is required.

Internal stakeholder management, data / information management, category strategy development and management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills.

The starting compensation for this job in New Jersey is a range in from $161,250.00 - $195,400.00, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
