What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as Associate Director – Payments Risk and Control Oversight. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and enhancing controls across the day-to-day functions of cash payments operations teams.
The primary focus lies in ensuring optimization of day-to-day payment processes, improving on controls environment and fostering a low-risk operational framework. The incumbent is tasked with providing control oversight to payments operations teams, developing framework for continuous monitoring and testing of existing controls, handling of periodic reviews of procedures, devising action plans to implement control changes, process assessments and evaluations, interacting with market services operational risk and audit teams, developing strategies around enhancing risk and control environment. Will support projects and enhancement initiatives in payments operations, as required.
What will you do?
Oversee the development and implementation of operational control policies and procedures.Work closely with the teams to build and maintain a robust risk and control framework in payments operations.Conduct regular reviews of processes, controls and procedures within payments operations. Evaluate control effectiveness, investigate, identify and mitigate potential risks and control gaps in operational processes.Develop and implement corrective actions to address control gaps.Train and educate employees on existing and new control procedures.Manage complex systems/functions process analysis, design, simulation and changes. Provide consulting to business and IT development teams on tools and approaches to automate and streamline key processes and controls.Maintain contact with key stakeholders to ensure department expectations are clarified, understood and met.Focus on continuous process improvement, enhancing client and employee experience, creating simplified, scalable, risk averse processes in payments operations.What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
5+ years of experience in Payments, Operational risk, Operational controls or related financial services roles.Proven leadership in managing operational change and process improvement initiatives.Able to develop and execute risk and control strategies for payment operations, aligning with organizational objectives and client expectations.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Proficient in relevant systems and tools (e.g., SWIFT, TLM, Excel, etc.)Strong ability to ask critical questions, interview operations employees on process flows, anticipate problems/future needs, and take ownership.Experienced in working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, Ops Risk, Audit and Technology.Able to manage complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results under pressure.Proficient in implementing and optimizing payment processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy and complianceWhat’s in it for you?
