What is the opportunity?
The Network Management team is responsible for Global & Domestic Custody Network Management within Investor Services supporting the overall strategy, direction and profitability for Custody within RBC IS and in alignment with core objectives. Client asset safety - the rigorous monitoring of the appointed network of providers, as well as providing clients insight into, and detailed knowledge of, market entry, market changes, opportunities, and risks – is at the heart of the network management function.
With client asset safety in mind, Network Management covers two functions each with a specific focus:
Risk & Control: a control and oversight function responsible for the oversight and execution of due diligence reviews, risk assessments, service reviews, maintenance of policies and procedures, all enshrined in a robust control framework to manage the internal and external dependencies on the network function. Client Market Account Opening (CMAO) is an integral part of the Risk & Control team, managing the lifecycle account workflow (opening/closing segregated and omnibus accounts) for clients investing in the global markets across the network of 102 markets with 15 providers.
Network Relationship Management: supports internal and external clients through the management of, and strategic engagement with agent banks, including relationship ownership, driving collaboration across the RBC enterprise, providing industry and market advocacy, representing RBCIS as a trusted advisor.
What will you do?
Manages designated relationships covering group of markets across regions.Represents Network Management internally within RBC IS and across the RBC enterprise extending the circle of influence in line with Network’s strategic direction and in alignment with RBC IS’s IGNITE27 strategy.Participates in industry forums, working groups and gathers and shares market intelligence.Collaborates with Network leadership and peers to deliver the network roadmap.Maintains a thorough understanding of agent bank relationships including products and services, market footprint and strategic direction and costs. When called upon, presents to Senior Leadership Team.Provides appropriate representation in governance meetings including Network Management Steering Committee (NMSC) and other risk, pricing and deal forums, and regulatory bodies.Contributes and collaborates on material regulatory, market or internal Network Management and Market Services projects.Ensures all audit and regulatory related requests completed on time.What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Undergraduate degree in business /finance or other relevant degree.At least 5 years’ experience in asset servicing, institutional or capital markets related industryTechnical knowledge, specifically related to financial services and asset management industry, with a demonstrable track record in working with network and/or third-party providers.Excellent Relationship management and negotiation skillsStrong relationship management, communications and partnership development capabilities and skills.Proven ability to independently manage cross functional initiatives.Nice-to-have
CFA and/or master’s degree.At least 10 years’ experience in asset servicing, institutional or capital markets related industry.What’s in it for you?
